Although fashion designers typically create their collections in secrecy rivaling the Manhattan Project, what’s interesting is how many similarities between collections emerge as Fashion Week progresses, and how these similarities then group themselves into a limited number of strong trends.
Now don’t get us wrong, we still love to drool over gorgeous dresses and new bags and debate over the merits of the latest trends
The fashion crowd is a resilient lot, a fact that never fails to cheer us in gloomy times. No matter how shivery the weather may be or seriously scary the economy gets, nothing can keep the world’s trendsetters from attending the shows! We adore this buoyant spirit—it truly lightens our mood—so we felt compelled to honor a few of our favorite attendees in today’s What They Wore: Fashion Week. Whether they’re wearing fancy frocks (à la Julia Restoin Roitfeld) or perfectly disheveled boyfriend jeans (hello, Meredith Melling Burke), we think there’s much to admire about these lovely ladies and their personal style!
