As for the low light, I did not like the strange exaggerated skirting. I am usually a fan of big skirts, but up close, they looked disfiguring. I also didn’t care much for the tweed section of the show, I don’t really get the tweed swimsuit. The jury’s still out on the fur, part of me was quite taken with the idea of a cropped fur jumper, and then part thought it was all a little excessive
There has also been a push to get more international journalists involved and covering the shows. Which is great, as LFW could do with a more global coverage.

There have been numerous rumours surrounding this possible move. Ever since big fashion boss’ daughter Delphine Arnault, daughter of LVMH chairman Bernard Arnault sat front row at his menswear show in Paris.
So we will just have to wait and see, they may make an early announcement in order to sort out fact from fiction. Oh you have to love the front row rumour mill. And speaking of front rows, the man in question has been spotted out and about; last night he took prime position at the eagerly anticipated Pam Hogg show.
It wasn’t just her presence that caused quite a stir, but she had also gushed about the collection and fashion designer calling it “beautiful”. Speculation then ensued over where he might head off to. Then the penny dropped, Dior Homme has somewhat fallen off the radar, and as Delphine was sat at a menswear show rather than waiting for the women’s line, it was decided he was being groomed for Kris van Assche’s job.
She can be relied on for the fail safe fashion, constantly churning out the same cuts, fabrics and colours. But for Autumn/Winter 09 it would seem the French-born designer has had something of an epiphany.
The shows styling was also great, knee high socks were paired with towering almost stripper like heels. Hot pink long length gloves added a modern twist, whilst skinny snake effect belts added shape and definition.
The photographs in all fairness do not do the collection justice. It was a strong range, with a heavy emphasis on colour and design. The pieces were right on trend, those sci-fi shoulders were even present.

I have more than enough in the way of beauty products, so beyond replacing things as they run out, I’m not shopping for that kind of stuff.
Personally, I’m very “eh” about shopping in general right now. There’s not much that’s tempting me, apart from a few select pieces (like my new Orla Kiely overnight bag and the Burberry winter coat I got for 40% off).
Beauty-wise, I was severely disappointed by Sephora’s lack of discounts when a friend took me to the Stanford Mall location on Black Friday.This was the sale I’d been waiting for, as I’d been curious to try his foundation for, oh, six years.) Not to mention how terribly rude and unhelpful the female sales associates were.

Although fashion designers typically create their collections in secrecy rivaling the Manhattan Project, what’s interesting is how many similarities between collections emerge as Fashion Week progresses, and how these similarities then group themselves into a limited number of strong trends.
Now don’t get us wrong, we still love to drool over gorgeous dresses and new bags and debate over the merits of the latest trends

While most of America was tuned into the 81st Academy Awards on Sunday night to Enjoy Valentine’s Day, we expected the usual overflow of jaw-dropping ensembles. Surprisingly, the evening was oddly underwhelming and for the most part, the looks were merely serviceable. But even though we weren’t inundated with amazing outfits galore, we did see a few standout gowns that deserve another minute in the spotlight.
February is the month of sweets and treats, though admittedly, said items are usually gifts given, rather than received. I wear white gold and silver jewellery mostly. Yellow gold doesn’t suit people of my age in my opinion (I’m early 20s.) I have a necklace with a Cross and a heart on it that never comes off, and I mean never. I also wear one ring all the time. I wear a watch most days and I wear one pair of studs in my ears every day also. If i’m going out I tend to add a droopy pair of earrings and perhaps a more dressed up necklace but that’s all. I own a white gold bracelet that was given to me which has huge sentimental value that I only ever wear on very special occasions. I just wear minimal that doesn’t look cheap, tacky and over the top. You should wear what you feel comfortable wearing.
